LINE Bank’s shareholders include Taipei Fubon Bank, Chinatrust Commercial Bank, Taiwan Mobile, Standard Chartered Bank, Far EasTone Telecommunications, and the Federal Commercial Bank (all top domestic brands for finance and telecommunications) which have no problems to offer accounts to foreign residents.
LINE Bank officially opened in Taiwan in April 2021, providing consumer financial services such as deposits, transfers, debit cards, and personal credit loans. When signing up, a Foreign resident can pass every step (accept the contract, confirm the mobile phone number, email) until he/she arrives at the ID check where only Taiwanese ID cards are accepted as proof.
